BikeLoveJones invited me to a ladies cyclocross clinic and somehow I said yes. I learned to comfortably dismount the bike while in motion with her step by step (heh heh) method. I learned how to make my own portable barrier. I learned I need a(nother!) new bike.
Here's how you get your bike to the bike ride (if you're cool like that).
This is how we do it (high kicks!).
And here's what you do after. (Mine is the mountain bike with the pink basket)

Tour de Damns - day 3
Only 52 miles on this last day, which still involved 10 miles of constant uphill. I guess I was too tired to take many pictures, because this is all I have:
The best part - an 8 person (even gender division!) paceline at 22mph for the 15ish miles back to the house in Sun River. Each person pulled for about a minute, then rotated off to the back. Just like on TV.
Another fantastic Tour de Damns came to a close and I survived it. Although it was a bit of a suffer-fest, I woke up Tuesday morning itchin to ride the 10 flat miles to work. Not bad!

Tour de Damns - day 1
The gang.
Every year I go on a 3 day ride with these torturers. I mean my friends. Day 1 was an 82 mile pain-fest featuring 7 & 8 % grades for about 6000ish feet of climbing around Mt. Bachelor. No wonder he's single.
Enthusiasm before I knew we'd be climbing all day.
A flat tire is a welcome break.
These girls kept passing me.

7 Heavenly Virtues
Patience: riders waited 5 minutes after they were ready to ride to begin.
Temperance: alcohol was dumped at the hydropark.
Humility: a graveyard.
Diligence: a huffy(!) with a flat.
Chastity: at Two Plums Park, two plums dangled from each rider's saddle while others gave chase. We were all "chaste".
Kindness: we admired this beautiful piece of graffiti art at an abandoned gas station, then picked up 5 trash bags full of litter.
Charity: two hours of our time volunteering for a worthwhile cause: The Community Cycling Center.
Oh la la, french toast!
Another awesome french toast ride. The weather was alternately cold and hot, calm and windy. The bungie that went into my wheel made me grateful to have both eyes. Picked pears at the rest stop near the peninsula crossing trail and brought them home. Stopped by the BikeTiresDirect shop to replace Devora's troublesome cleat. Michelle beat us to my house and the two of us had brat and onion sandwiches for lunch.
